More and more women find rugby an attractive sport. And why not? Internationally, regionally and locally, numbers are growing and the level is also improving.
In the youth, girls play more than creditably with the boys up to the age of the Colts. After that, the physical differences make it more difficult.
The age for senior ladies is 18 years and above.
Ladies and girls regularly come to us with the request to play rugby. RugbyClub Amsterdam is very much open to women's rugby.
The girls, who now play with the boys, should be given a chance to move on to a senior team within RugbyClub Amsterdam. And we are also happy to offer the possibility to adult ladies.
Building a mature women's branch together
Setting up your own women's department is a great challenge. Above all, it is about sufficient numbers to realize a team.
It starts with training, lobbying and pioneering, making friends enthusiastic.
To do this, we need enthusiastic ladies and initiators, who want to work step by step towards a adult women's branch.
The club provides the necessary facilities and support. Think of accommodation, trainers, promotion, etc.

Do I really have to be 18?
No, not really!
You can come to us from any age. We look for the possibilities that suit you.
From the age of 16 there are often opportunities to play with dispensation. It all depends on how you feel and what you can do, how you are physically.
You can also try to mobilize your own circle of friends to form a group as an alternative.
